Abstract Scattering amplitudes are both a wonderful playground to discover novel ideas in quantum field theory and simultaneously of immense phenomenological importance make precision predictions for e.g. particle collider observables more recently also gravitational wave signals. In this review chapter, we give an overview some the exciting recent progress on reformulating QFT terms mathematical, geometric quantities, such as polytopes, associahedra, Grassmanians, amplituhedron. approach, standard notions locality unitarity derived concepts rather than fundamental ingredients construction which might us handle number open questions that have evaded answer decades. We first basic summary positive geometry before discussing associahedron—one simplest physically relevant examples—and its relation tree-level scattering bi-adjoint ϕ 3 theory.
